Washington, D.C. – Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio demanding details on the official status and duties, as well as any potential conflicts of interests, of an increasing number of special envoys. The Executive Branch is by law required to notify Congress of these details in a timely manner, of which the administration has failed to do.

Meeks, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, today filed a discharge petition and is gathering signatures to force a vote on the resolutions he introduced to terminate President Trump’s authority to impose enormous tariffs that harm American families. House Republicans refused to take up the resolutions introduced in April.
