Adam Smith (D-Wash.) led Members in their respective committees today in a letter urging President Donald Trump to stop supporting Vladimir Putin's illegal war, on the heels of the United States siding with Russia and breaking with longstanding allies at the United Nations earlier this week.

Washington, D.C. – Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, today introduced Resolutions to terminate President Trump’s unlawful use of “emergency” authorities to impose tariffs on Canada and Mexico. The Resolutions terminate the Administration’s abuse of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), which it has used to justify tariffs based on a fabricated national emergency.
