Meeks and his fellow New Yorkers on the Financial Services Committee lead the charge to pass the Terrorism Risk Insurance Extension Act (TRIEA) in committee today. The final vote was 49-20 in favor of passage of the bill.

(WASHINGTON, DC)–Congressman Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY) of the Sixth Congressional District, today voted in favor of the College Cost Reduction Act of 2007 (H.R. 2669). The College Cost Reduction Act will increase the maximum Pell Grant by almost $500 and cut student loan rates in half over the next five years in order to make college more affordable.
