U.S. Rep Gregory W. Meeks to Travel to Guatemala with Vice President Joe Biden

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Senior Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Senior Member on the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere and the former Chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee Monetary Policy and International Trade, released the following statement regarding his upcoming trip to Guatemala:

“Today, I will accompany Vice President, Joe Biden on his trip to Guatemala. The purpose of the trip is to meet with Presidents of the Northern Triangle, which includes El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, and the President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to continue the Administration's effort to tackle violence and poverty in the region. We will build on our goals of stimulating economic growth, reducing inequality, creating institutions that are transparent and accountable, and more.

"I look forward to engaging our Latin American neighbors as we work together to for the betterment of our respective nations and our interdependent hemisphere.”
