WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Gregory Meeks released the following statement regarding Vice President Joe Biden’s decision not to pursue a presidential campaign:

“I respect Vice President Biden's decision not to pursue a presidential campaign. With the eloquence and charm that is so often associated with Vice President Biden, he laid out the reasons behind this important decision and his vision for the future of our nation.

“In the many years that I have known Vice President Biden I have regarded him as a true Statesmen; he was a valued member of the U.S. Senate and a great asset to the Obama Administration. I admire his relentless dedication to public service and the American people. I thank him for his lifetime of contributions to our country and look forward to continuing to work with him in reaching our goal of a fairer and more just society for all.“
