WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Gregory W. Meeks (NY-05) a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and an advocate for Haitian-Americans released the following statement on the U.S. AID hearing on restoring, and rebuilding Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010:
“This week I participated in a hearing examining efforts to restore and rebuild Haiti following the devastating earthquake of 2010. The discussion was enlightening and shows how much work is left to be done. I will continue to exercise oversight as the U.S. Department of State and U.S. AID improve efforts to more effectively disburse appropriated funds.
