Rep. Gregory W. Meeks Statement on Republicans’ Failed Funding Vote
September 18, 2024
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Gregory W. Meeks (NY-05) released the following statement after House Republicans failed to pass a temporary spending bill to avoid a government shutdown:
“House Republicans must stop wasting our time in Congress. We are 12 days away from a shutdown and their partisan games have failed. It is critical that we pass a clean, short-term funding bill that keeps our federal agencies open and available to the American people.
“A bipartisan path forward is the only way to prevent a government shutdown that will hurt everyday Americans.”
