My statement on the Supreme Court’s Ruling in Trump v. CASA Inc. "Today’s ruling by the Supreme Court to limit the scope of nationwide injunctions is a disturbing blow to judicial oversight. By weakening the power of the courts to issue such injunctions, the Court is clearing the path for Trump to exercise his executive power as he pleases. I introduced a War Powers Resolution to cease U.S. hostilities on Iran, absent a Congressional authorization. “President Trump must not be allowed to start a war with Iran, or any country, without Congressional approval. Yet President Trump ordered strikes on Iran this past weekend without meaningful consultation or Congressional authorization. We still don’t know whether these strikes eliminated Iran’s nuclear weapons capabilities, and the administration has offered no clear strategy.” Read more here. |
