ICYMI This Week: Rep. Meeks Accepts Constituent Appropriations Requests and Calls Out Trump Administration's Most Recent Chaos

As your Member of Congress, I have the opportunity to request federal funding that will benefit our community. Due process is a fundamental pillar of the rule of law. When those in power disregard due process rights and undermine the rule of law, it threatens the rights and freedoms of all Americans. I joined my Democratic colleagues in demanding that the Trump Administration return Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the U.S. immediately. See letter, here.  

I have said before that I am willing to work with any administration on responsible reforms that ensure we continue to have the best diplomatic and development agency to meet the global challenges of the 21st century. But Secretary Rubio’s proposed reorganization of the State Department, developed with zero consultation with Congress, raises significant concerns about the future of American diplomacy, foreign policy, and global leadership.
