Congressman Gregory W. Meeks Statement on the Hoffman V. New York State Independent Redistricting Commission

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Gregory W. Meeks (NY-05) released the following statement on the New York State Appellate Court’s decision in Hoffmann v. New York State Independent Redistricting Commission.

“Today’s decision reaffirms that New York’s congressional district lines be drawn by an independent redistricting commission as mandated by New York State’s constitution, as opposed to the out-of-town Special Master, appointed by a radical conservative judge. It’s imperative that the New York State Independent Redistricting Commission work to create a map that provides New Yorkers with the fair representation they deserve.”
