Congressman Gregory W. Meeks Statement on the Nomination of Loretta Lynch to be the next United States Attorney General

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Gregory W. Meeks released the following statement regarding the nomination of Loretta Lynch to be the next United States Attorney General:

“President Obama’s nomination today of U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch as Attorney General is welcome news. Her background as a fearless and tenacious prosecutor in New York City makes her well-qualified to serve as the next United States Attorney General. I know that she will continue the tremendous work of Eric Holder regarding civil rights and upholding the law as our nation’s top law enforcement official. I expect the Senate to confirm her expeditiously.” [End]
